## 3rd Quarter: January 16 - 20

## Wednesday, January 18th

**2nd and 4th Periods: Today in class….**

- We spent the first part of the day looking at our exams.
- Afterwards, we started our next unit on Electrostatics.
- We looked at what exactly charge is and how it is measured using elementary charge.
- We only had one formula (q = Ne) to work with.

**2nd Period**- We only did Example 1

**4th Period**- We did all three examples and started with a little class practice.

## Friday, January 20th

**2nd Period: Today in class….**

- Today we finished our class examples 2 and 3 working with calculating electrical charge.
- Afterwards, we had some time to work on some additional practice independently. Solutions for the examples and additional practice are attached below.
- Towards the end of class, we discussed conductors and insulators and some examples of each.
- Finally - we looked at the conductivity of water.

4th Period: Today in class…

4th Period: Today in class…

- We finished our additional practice problems calculating charge - solutions are attached below.
- Afterwards, we talked about conductive and insulating materials as well as were water falls in these categories.
- In the second half of class, we worked on our electrostatics lab, parts 1-3. We'll look at part 4 next class.

**HOMEWORK:**Read the first two sections of the additional reading packet given in class.
