Article Review - Due Friday
- Today we finsihed up a lot of little things. After a basic review of some of our ocean features (waves, currents, structures, etc...), we looked back at our sonar lab.
- Afterwards, we talked a bit about the layers of the ocean and life that live there.
- We learned that while most of the ocean uses energy from the sun through photosynthesis - another class of objects down on the ocean floor use the elements and energy from hydrothermal vents to survive.

Today in class....
- Today we didn't have a ton of time due to clubs, but I did finally collect the Ocean in a Box Lab.
- Afterwards, we started to look at coastline features. We'll finish up these stations next class.
Friday, December 16th
Today in class....
- Today we finished our shoreline features worksheet. It's all about the balance between erosion and deposition to create some of the natural features we see and how our man-made features can sometimes destroy that balance.
- Afterwards, we talked briefly about the idea of estuaries - these are often nurseries or breeding grounds for many different species.
- To finish class, we watched the Planet Earth episode on Deep Oceans. We'll finish up the last little bit hopefully on Tuesday. Enjoy your weekend!
