## Monday, August 29th

**1st Period: Today in class….**

- Welcome back guys!
- Today after a little review, we talked more about how physicists 'describe' motion we see. We talked about differences between average speed and average velocity even though both answer the question of 'how fast.'
- We looked at class examples 1 - 3 to get some practice with our new ideas.
- Afterwards, we just barely started to discuss acceleration. We'll pick up there next class.

## Tuesday, August 30th

**6th Period: Today in class….**

- Today we finished looking at the terms physicists use to 'describe' the motion we see by talking about acceleration.
- Acceleration is all about the
**change**in velocity. How rapidly is an object speeding up or slowing down. - We looked at example 4 to get a little practice with calculations of acceleration.
- After a quick break, we looked about our Kinematic Equations. These four equations will be very useful for our analysis of different situations in physics as we move forward.
- We made our 'kinematics card' and did Class Example 5 Part A

## Thursday, September 1st

**6th Period: Today in class….**

- Hard to believe we're already to September!
- Today we worked with our lab equipment. After a quick tutorial with the Xplorer GLX, we jumped in to our Kinematics Lab.
- Most of you guys either finished or were close to finishing. We'll wrap this lab up beginning of next week.

## Friday, September 2nd

**1st Period: Today in class….**

- Today we finished our Kinematics Lab. Overall, it looks like you guys were able to get some great data! Make sure that if I didn't get your lab that you finish any last questions for hw and get it back to me on Wednesday.
- Afterwards, we started to discuss the graphical representations of motion - connecting it to what you guys saw in the lab.
